Why am I not taking a nap?

At this very moment, every other living thing in my house is doing this:

Sleeping! But I'm not - I'm doing laundry, and dishes, and picking up around the house. I SHOULD be doing homework... but I'm not, because frankly, I just don't want to. I wish I could be napping...

(yesterday) we saw that little plus sign that we knew would change our lives forever. Clara has been a part of our lives for a year now and I can't believe how fast the time is passing!

How excited we were to meet you... Between the morning sickness, hip pain and contractions, I would do it a million times over to get our little angel in the end.

I don't think either of us could imagine our lives without you in it. You make every day a thousand times better with that smile and not a second goes by when we're not with you that we wish we were. You have become our entire world and we wouldn't trade it for anything.

We love you so much Clara Ann :)

I knew there was another "first" I wanted to brag about! Clara is in her crib! I put the sheets in the crib last weekend, and Paul put her in there to nap on Wednesday. She has been in there ever since and doing great! Goodbye bassinet - hello big girl bed!

What is this?? A POST?!? Hey, it's only been 2 weeks... 2 VERY full weeks!

September 27th marked my first full week back at work. It was a crazy week of catching up from the summer and packing up my office and storage areas to move on October 4th. The week of October 4th I moved into my new office - it's smaller than my previous space, but it will work. I'm closer to the copier and printer, but further from the bathroom and water fountain... you win some, you lose some!

Clara has had a few "firsts" in the last 2 weeks as well. It was her first full week of daycare. She did great - and I did too! She made her first trip to the doctor for an illness. She had been more "spitty-uppy" than usual and when she started going several hours without a wet diaper I started getting concerned. So I took her in - she had a slight tummy bug. It definitely wasn't keeping her down though, she was her normal happy, smily self! The Dr even commented when she greeted him at the door with a smile and a giggle that she was "the happiest little sick baby he'd ever seen!" He had a hard time checking out her ears as she kept turning her head to see what he was doing - she definitely doesn't miss a thing!

I celebrated my 29th birthday on Wednesday and was able to spend part of the day with Paul and Clara. Paul gave me a batch of Frizzle chickens! Frizzles are my current favorite chickens, their feathers turn out instead of in! We have also started getting eggs from the chickens we got this spring... it is fun to egg hunt each evening!

In closing, here is a pic of Clara in her first pair of sunglasses! God knew I needed a little girl to dress up! :)
