3 Month Old!

Today I am back in my office after 13 weeks of maternity leave. It really hasn't changed much... and next week we are moving to new offices! So while I should be spending my time catching up and reading 600+ emails... I am packing up my office and purging files!
Clara turned 3 months old this weekend. She is very smiley, giggly, and loves to chatter! She is getting very strong, and holds her head really well. She is also very busy! She is always moving... her legs, her arms, her fingers... she is really only still when she is sleeping! She is really into her hands - folding them, and putting them in her mouth!

Maternity Leave = over

The hours of my maternity leave are dwindling... I go back to work in 13 hours. Boo. Those were the fastest 12 weeks of my life! It seems like just yesterday that we were in the hospital, and yet it feels like it was forever ago that we were in the hospital! This last year has just slipped away - I still remember clearly the moment I peed on that stick! And yet, here we are, with an almost 3 month old! I spent almost all day holding and cuddling her, playing with her and watching her sleep. There was one moment when I was looking at her and thinking to myself, "wow, she's mine!"
As I am writing this it feels like those first few days when we were home with her, the tears are freely flowing! I have no worries about her care while I am work, but it will be hard not seeing every smile, hearing every babbling conversation.
I had several things I wanted to do while on maternity leave, and I accomplished most of them! They included:
1. Go on a shopping trip with my mom.
2. Go on a shopping trip with my sister, Carrie.
3. Have breakfast/lunch at the salesbarn with my dad.
4. Go to the pool with Carrie and her boys.
5. Visit my grandpa.
6. Work on sewing projects.
There were a few things I didn't get accomplished, but it isn't the end of the world.
So tomorrow I re-enter the working world. Goodbye sleeping in late. Goodbye weekday shopping trips. I will miss you!

In the News...

Clara is only 11 weeks old and has been in our local paper 3 times! It helps that Paul is on the Chamber of Commerce and works closely with several of the paper staff, but seriously - pretty soon she is going to need an agent!
Her first appearance came shortly after her birth. It was a story about the Wabasha County Fair and our family's involvement with it. There was a picture from her baptism as well.
Then, her actual birth announcement was published.
And most recently, she was in the paper for visiting 10 fairs this past summer. It all started with a pciture I had posted on facebook of Clara reading the paper with Paul. A facebook friend of mine who works for the paper decided it needed to be published! So they came up with a story to go along with it and it was on the front page! You could totally tell that they interviewed Paul though... it talk about how he showed sheep for several years and showed at the state fair... nevermind the fact that I showed for a lot longer than he did and went to the state fair with livestock every year since I was in 6th grade... oh well!

Catching Up!

Ah! I am such a terrible blogger! It has been almost 2 weeks since I posted last! Sorry!

Clara turned 2 months old on August 25th. My little munchkin is growing up so fast - I can't believe how fast the time is flying by!

The baths are going better - she smiles and coos when in the tub splashing in the water. Washing her hair is the only thing still illicits a cry once in a while, but so far she seems to like water. I was even able to finally snap a pic of her in the tub!

Clara had her 2 month check-up last week as well. She weighed 11lbs 8oz and was 23.8" long. She has huge feet and I am having a hard time finding socks that fit!

Only a few more weeks and I head back to the office!
